The first place we stayed was Shannon and Aaron’s house in Chandler, AZ. We moved out of our house on the 31st of May and needed somewhere to call home until we left on the 6th of June. They had everything we could possibly need to transition from home to homeless very easily: a carpool to work for me, a short drive to work for Ben, a parking space for Lily (since Aaron left the very next day to do some canyoneering in the Grand Canyon), and the company of two dogs (Cody and Sydney) and one cat (Ethan) so how could we say no?
Even though we missed Aaron we had a great time with our weeklong roomy and pets. Shan cooked us a delicious spaghetti dinner and drove me all around town to finish getting things together to sell my car. We were able to use some tools that we had already packed, Shannon let us leave behind a pile of things we just couldn’t sell on Craigslist, and we even had time to tear ourselves away from getting Lily ready to watch some movies and hang out with Shannon before leaving. Staying with Shannon and the ghost of Aaron really helped to make our moves go very smoothly. Thanks to the both of you, you helped us more than you will ever know!
